Career Technical Education (CTE) Identity Framework

As a nation we need to expand the pipeline of skilled technical workers by adopting positive images of Career Technical Education (CTE) as a primary path towards good jobs, not an alternative path associated with concepts of “lesser” and “menial.” ASHLIN has facilitated the development of a CTE Framework designed to bring awareness and “message discipline” to the way career technical educators and supporters talk about and present CTE, eradicating old stereotypes and, over time, replacing them with a new, more aspirational image.
